Initial Appointment
Your initial appointment will take approximately 60 minutes. During this time, a comprehensive assessment will be completed collecting your medical history, family history, and overview of symptoms. This information is used to make a diagnosis and develop a treatment plan tailored to each client’s needs. If medication is prescribed, possible side effects and dosing is discussed. Future appointments will be scheduled as medication management follow-ups.

Combined Medication Management & Psychotherapy
Many psychiatric disorders will require a two-pronged approach for successful treatment: medication combined with therapy or counseling. This treatment approach is often used early in treatment & during times of worsening symptoms. The focus is improving treatment outcomes by reviewing medication routines, identifying barriers to treatment, benefits and side effects to medication. Psychotherapy is integrated based on patient needs to improve acute symptoms and decrease relapse of symptoms.

A big part of mental healthcare is medication management, done through regularly scheduled follow-up appointments. These appointments are approximately 20 minutes. These appointments primarily focus on individual response to medication, benefits and side effects of medication, and making any necessary adjustments.
